In the Werx | 003: ThunderPOS (ePOS): in development, what to expect next
Date Published
ThunderPOS (we also call it ePOS internally) is the next major brick in our retail story: tablets and tills in your shop, synced with the same product catalogue and orders spine as Stormfront on the web. Think “one inventory truth” whether someone buys online or at the counter.
Status: in development. We are not quoting public release dates in this post. Engineering is focused on reliable offline‑tolerant sync, hardware abstraction (common Bluetooth and USB scanners, receipt printers), and staff roles that map cleanly to your existing ThunderCloud / CMS permissions model.
What is not true yet: you cannot buy ThunderPOS through Package Builder today, and we are not onboarding production shops onto the POS until we complete security review and merchant‑services certification steps with our payment partners.
What you can do now: if retail is on your roadmap, stand up Stormfront (beta) or a catalogue‑only site in ThunderBolt CMS so product data and imagery are ready; when ThunderPOS lands, you should not be re‑typing SKUs. We will announce a tighter preview programme closer to feature‑complete.
Together, these three In the Werx posts sketch the Werx as it exists this quarter: CMS and instant provisioning live, commerce in beta, POS under construction, so clients and partners can plan without guessing from our homepage alone.
